We all talk about it quietly among ourselves: in Greece, forums of every kind are produced almost daily, yet the market and stakeholders cannot “consume” them.
Parallel monologues, wooden language on both sides, grandiose promises that bind only those who hear them, meaningless photo ops, verbose reports. The outcome, most of the time: spinning around our lonely selves, chasing our tails — and, ultimately, stagnation or at best small, insufficient steps.
Our country, however, urgently needs leaps forward, for time is not on our side and society rightly demands more and better.
On the other hand, the living side of the economy — enterprises, Greek and foreign, small and large — are pulsing with creative energy, possessing resources, means and expertise, and are ready to submit constructive public policy proposals to the state and relevant stakeholders.
Because here, the saying “No one knows the troubles of a household better than its master” truly applies — the market, under the constant test of competition and real-world conditions, knows firsthand which public policies work.
Clearly, the other side — the State — is also a “master,” with the institutional responsibility of safeguarding the public interest and generating optimal public policies.
It is precisely this intersection and interaction between market and state that this new CIRCLE — The Policy Circle Forum — aims to serve, in a framework of transparency and effectiveness.
See you at the 1st Policy Circle Forum Day, on 5 November 2026, at Castor Place.
